North Arrow Studio

The world we live in is the one we create.

Our work is refined, crafted with pride, and deceptively uncomplicated. Our spaces are beautiful and practical, and they reveal themselves slowly. Our work does not cry for attention, but instead speaks softly through a design language that strikes a balance between the familiar and what is new. We strive to find harmony and connectivity between the interior and exterior of the building and its environment.

We are influenced by the traditions of modern design, but our work always begins with an analysis of the unique characteristics of the site and the needs of our clients. We work with clients on all types of designs and budgets. Our success relies on our belief that effective designs are achieved through collaboration, respect and hard work.

Francisco Arredondo

As Principal of North Arrow Studio, Francisco leads an outstanding team of designers in the creation of some of Austin’s most memorable properties. Francisco is a licensed architect in Texas, a member of the AIA and the current Chair for the Small Firms Roundtable of AIA Austin.

Originally from Mexico, he relocated in 1998 to study Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin. Upon graduation in 2003, Francisco accepted a position with a longstanding Austin firm, where he worked for several years before forming North Arrow Studio in 2011.

When he is not creating architecture, Francisco enjoys watching informative YouTube videos on subjects that interest him such as vintage mechanical watches, fountain pens and koi fish. He spends an unhealthy amount of time laboring over his beloved mechanical money pits, old cars and older motorcycles.

Alicia Pierce

Originally from Iowa, Alicia joined the North Arrow team in 2018. She is a project architect now living in Austin, and a licensed architect in the state of Texas. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from Iowa State University. Alicia has participated in design and architecture workshops on three continents and led design and photography for several installations, including work showcased at the 2016 Venice Biennale Sessions. She’s a creative problem solver with an interest in sustainable and wellness focused design.

Alicia loves traveling and spending time in the great outdoors. When she's not working, she can be found at the pottery wheel, cycling, taking care of too many houseplants, playing with her giant German shepherd dog, or exploring, camera in hand.

Bobbie Behm

Bobbie is a project manager at North Arrow Studio. She grew up in Miami and received her Bachelor of Design in Architecture at the University of Florida after studying abroad at the University of Vicenza in Italy her last year. After 22 years in Florida, she grew tired of the beautiful beaches, scenic everglades, and nonexistent winters, so she made the move to Austin, where she combines her design skills and love for culinary arts. Her most recent projects include single family homes in Zilker and Bouldin Creek, where she manages the production of the homes in all phases of their construction.
