The single family Park Avenue Residence is an impressionistic reinterpretation of the 1950s American bungalow, a nod to Austin’s past in a rapidly shifting present. The three bedroom house is organized around a warm double-height space beneath the steep pitch of the gable roof. From the retractable screen in the front of the house to the master suite separated from the rest of the house by a glazed hallway, the project constitutes a careful negotiation between privacy, views, and light.
